Introduction

The 6th Delta Advanced Automation Contest (the “Contest”) is themed “Seeking Smart IIoT Talents”. The Contest is sponsored by the Automation Technology Teaching Steering Committee for Higher Education under the Ministry of Education, the Chinese Association of Automation, and the Industry and Information Industry Vocational Education Teaching Steering Committee under the Ministry of Education. It is an innovative technology competition for automation applications organized by the Delta Group.

The Contest supports the spirit of education reform and the building of platforms for automation technology teaching in universities. It also aims to generate enthusiasm among college students through promoting extracurricular scientific and technological activities in automation technology. The Contest echoes Delta’s brand spirit of “Smarter. Greener. Together” and strengthens college students’ programming and debugging skills by integrating theory and real practice. In addition to developing student innovation capacity and spirit of cooperation, the Contest enhances exchanges and cooperation between schools and enterprises.

The Contest is divided into two stages: The online preliminaries and the finals (on-site demo for semi-finals and oral defense for the final). The best of all eligible entries will be selected for the finals based on criteria and a school quota decided by the judging panel. A total of 75 teams nationwide will enter the finals held at the Wujiang plants of the Delta Group.

The online preliminaries require a knowledge test of Delta Industrial Automation products and a contest proposal submission. The evaluation judges are technical directors of Delta's major operation areas.

The semi-finalists shall give on-site demos and proposal presentations, and answer questions raised by the judges. The best 15 teams will enter the finals.

The finals is an exciting solution sharing event, and an excellent opportunity to learn for both students and the audience. The finalists shall go through a PowerPoint slides proposal briefing, perform a remote live demo and provide an oral defense with professionals. The judging panel is comprised of industry professionals, experienced professors and lecturers, and senior technical directors from the Delta Group.
